The Hitachi TagmaStore AMS (Adaptable Modular Storage) series offers SAN solutions for entry-level to enterprise requirements. The entry-level AMS200 featured 2 Gbps fiber channel host connectivity and supported up to 105 FC or 90 SATA drives and was primarily targeted at the SMB market. The AMS2500, however, was designed for the corporate market, with fiber channel (8 Gbps) and iSCSI (1 Gbps) host interfaces and a total capacity of 480 SAS or SATA disks. The entire range of AMS storage platforms featured fully redundant, non-disruptive replaceable hardware components and microcode updates. Combined with Hitachi's range of SAN software packages, including remote copy, point in time replication and thin provisioning and LUN scaling, AMS systems provide a flexible and resilient SAN solution for many customers.
The AMS200, AMS500 and AMS1000 have already passed their end-of-life (EOL) dates, but could still be a viable solution for less critical environments or as archival platforms. The AMS2xxx array of storage arrays are approaching their end-of-life dates, but are still capable of providing high-throughput, low-latency data access.
