The ProLiant DL385 Gen10 server has an adaptable chassis, including modular drive bays that can be configured with up to 30 SFF, up to 19 LFF, or up to 24 NVMe drive options and support for up to 3 double-width GPU options and 6 drive options. Single Width GPU .

HPE Smart Array S100i software RAID is provided as standard for an embedded m.2 boot. In addition, redesigned HPE Smart Array Essential and Performance RAID controllers offer performance and flexibility for additional features, including the ability to operate in SAS and HBA mode.

Choosing HPE FlexibleLOM or PCIe standup adapters that offer a choice of network bandwidth (1GbE to 4×10GbE) and fabric makes it scalable for changing business needs.

HPE Server UEFI / ROM legacy
UEFI is an industry standard that provides better management and more secure configuration than legacy ROM when interacting with the user server at boot time. HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers have a UEFI Class 2 implementation and support UEFI mode (default) and legacy BIOS mode.

  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise supports various accelerators on selected HPE Proliant servers to support different workloads.

  • Accelerators enable seamless integration of GPU computing with HPE ProLiant servers for high-performance computing, large data center graphics, deep learning, and virtual desktop deployments.

  • These accelerators provide all the standard benefits of GPU computing, while enabling maximum reliability and seamless integration with system monitoring and management tools such as HPE Insight CMU.

One Config Simple (SCE)
SCE is a self-service tool geared towards helping sales and non-technical personnel provide end users with initial setups in 3-5 minutes. Then submit the configuration for configuration help or use in existing ordering processes. If user requires rack configuration Custom or configuration for products not available in the SCE, contact the Hewlett Packard Enterprise End User Business Center or an authorized partner for assistance
  1. The 3 LFF rear gearbox will consume space for the secondary and tertiary riser
    • The 8 and 12 LFF chassis also support the 2 SFF rear gearbox, which allows the user to connect a secondary or tertiary riser.
    • The 8 NVMe drive option (826689-B21) can only be used on the SFF chassis and replaces box 1, 2 or 3.
    • The premium cage (826690-B21, 6 SAS / SATA + 2 NVMe) can only be used in the SFF chassis and replaces Box 1, 2 or 3.
    • The Universal Media Bay (882097-B21) is not available with the LFF chassis or the 24 SFF front end and can only be populated in Box 1.
    • The 8 SFF can be upgraded with the additional 8SFF drive box for a total of 16 or 24 SFF drives. For an optimal update, Box 2 should be completed second, with Box 1 filled last for a field update to 24 SFF. For Configure-To-Order (CTO) builds that require 24 SFF, use the 24 SFF chassis (868704-B21). Note that a field upgrade to 24 SFF will require a high performance fan kit (867810-B21).
    • All models come with the S100i Smart Array controller with built-in software RAID support for the 2 M.2 drive connectors built into the system board.
  2. 1P models come with 4 standard fans. The second processor option kit contains 2 additional fans
    • The 12 LFF and 24 SFF chassis come with 6 high performance fans as standard.
    • The 8LFF chassis comes with 6 standard fans as standard.
    • High performance fan kit is available to meet ambient temperature environments.
    • High performance fan kits are required for rear drives, graphics card or NVMe configurations.

  4. Maximum memory speed is limited by processor selection
    • Combining RDIMM and LRDIMM memory is not supported.

  5. Bus Width Indicates the number of physical electrical tracks that go to the connector.
  6. Performance RAID controllers require the HPE Smart Storage Battery (P01366-B21), which is sold separately.
  7. The Micro SD slot is not a Hot-Pluggable device. End users should not attempt to plug an SD card into the SD slot while the server is powered on.
    • It is not shipped by default. Available as a CTO option or as a field update (826703-B21).
  8. The UEFI System Utilities Tool is analogous to the legacy BIOS HPE ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU)
