The HP 3PAR F400 uses Thin technology to achieve the highest possible system utilization. The HP 3PAR Gen3 ASIC with zero detection is a hyper-efficient storage optimization engine designed for “fat-to-thin” volume conversions in silicon while maintaining enterprise performance levels. It does this by removing allocated but unused space from traditional “fat” volumes. It does all this without any interruption in the system. This means that your users won’t see any downtime or latency from the system as it is based on silicon rather than software.
The HP 3PAR F400 uses 50% less storage space than legacy systems to achieve the same results. It does this by using Thin Technologies. This means that the owner will have direct savings on operating costs, sometimes up to 75% savings. The system is automated, so less admin interaction is required. It uses 50% less hardware for storage. It uses less cooling as the unit is significantly smaller. All of this is directly related to cost of ownership savings, which makes the HP 3PAR F400 a great investment.
