EMC VNX5500 Description
VNX5500 Disk Processor Enclosure helps customers keep pace with their business growth by expanding the storage capacity of the system. The intuitive design of the VNX5500 allows you to easily add new disks that can be used to expand existing storage pools or create new ones.

disk drives VNX5500 Disk Processor Enclosure (DPE) is a high-performance unified storage system based on modular architecture that integrates hardware components for block, file and object with simultaneous support for native NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and FCoE protocols. The VNX5500 provides file functionality (NAS) through X-Blade data movers and block storage (iSCSI, FCoE, and FC) through dual storage processors, leveraging the full 6 Gbps SAS disk drive topology. The VNX5500 allows you to start with block or file functionality and easily upgrade to unified storage when needed. Great for mid-to-large enterprises, the VNX5500 can support up to 250 drives with dual SPs.
