Hardware Supply

Whether you’re considering purchasing the latest technology, exploring purchasing alternatives such as used hardware, or looking at the possibility of renting hardware equipment for a period of time, DC Parts can make any of these options available with unparalleled customer service and competitive pricing.

Being an independent third-party supplier allows DC Parts to supply equipment from a variety of markets worldwide. This allows us to offer our customers the best deal and the widest range of new, used and refurbished hardware.

New Hardware

Working with established dealers, distributors, brokers, and other partners around the world, we can offer not only competitive pricing, but also shorter lead times. We can provide server, storage, and networking platforms from all leading vendors, including but not limited to Cisco, Dell, EMC, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, and NetApp.

There is a range of terminology used to describe the product status of new hardware. The following glossary defines them for equipment offered to customers in the official channel and brokerage market, including canceled order equipment, excess inventory, or new systems fragmented into their constituent parts for spares.

Factory Sealed / New Retail – The hardware is unused and is factory sealed in the original manufacturer’s packaging and typically comes with a full warranty.

New box opened – the hardware is not used, but the seal of the original packaging is broken or cut. This equipment is usually offered with most or all of the manufacturer’s warranty.

New – hardware is not used with or without the original manufacturer’s packaging, such as bulk, new pulls, or spares. Hardware is typically supplied with most or all of the original warranty.
or new systems fragmented into their constituent parts for spares.

Hardware Used

Businesses, the public sector, and other organizations are under increasing pressure to reduce their IT spending and make their budgets go further. As such, many of these institutions are exploring alternative ways to use their limited capital and are increasingly turning to the market for used IT equipment to meet their upgrade, additional capacity, and hardware upgrade requirements.

As with new hardware, there are several different terms that are used to describe the condition of used equipment. The following glossary explains terminology for equipment that may have been deployed for a period of time and includes hardware from the latest technology in the form of ex-demo products, cancelled projects and liquidation stock, all the way up to hardware that has been declared “End of Life” (EOL) by the manufacturer.

OEM Refurbishment, Remanufacturing & Reconditioning – Hardware that has been returned to the manufacturer and has undergone a renewal process with the vendor or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Usually, this equipment comes with a full manufacturer’s warranty.

Refurbished- Hardware that was previously purchased and subsequently cleaned, tested, and returned to its original level of operation prior to shipment. Equipment is typically offered with a minimum 90-day warranty, which for many products can be increased to one year for a nominal fee.

Used- Hardware that has been tested to work but has not been refurbished. Typically, this equipment is offered with a 90-day warranty.

Refurbished equipment

Most used DC Parts equipment is offered in refurbished condition, having been cleaned, fully tested and returned to its original operating state prior to shipment.

DC Parts will do the following before shipping any used or refurbished hardware:

  • Testing – Stripped systems for testing and inspecting individual components.
