Description of the EMC VNX5500
VNX5500 Disk Processor Enclosure helps customers grow with their business by expanding system storage capacity. The VNX5500's intuitive design allows you to easily add new disks that can be used to expand existing storage pools or create new pools.

VNX5500 Disk Processor Enclosure (DPE) is a high-performance unified storage system based on a modular architecture that integrates block, file, and object hardware components with concurrent support for native NAS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and FCoE protocols. The VNX5500 offers file functionality (NAS) through X-Blade data movers and block storage (iSCSI, FCoE and FC) through dual storage processors leveraging the full 6Gbps SAS disk drive topology. The VNX5500 lets you start with block or file functionality and easily upgrade to unified storage when needed. Great for medium to large businesses, the VNX5500 can support up to 250 drives with dual SPs.
