Product Description Dell PowerEdge M710 CTO Blade Server
The Dell PowerEdge M710 Blade delivers the exceptional bandwidth and performance that today’s data center environments demand.
Strong IT foundation
To build the most efficient data center solutions, Dell sought input from IT professionals. You’ve asked for reliability, scalability, energy efficiency, and a lower total cost of ownership (TCO). Our M710 blade servers deliver, making it the foundation of a high-performance data center capable of keeping up with changing business demands.
Purposeful design
Today’s data centers require performance, high availability, and redundancy. Designed with these needs in mind, the M710 blade server uses the Intel Xeon 5500 and 5600 series processor. These processors adapt to your software in real-time, processing more tasks simultaneously. Using Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, M-Series blades can increase performance during peak usage periods. When demand decreases, Intel® Intelligent Power Technology helps reduce operating costs and energy usage by proactively placing the server in lower power states.
Dell’s innovative full-height Dell PowerEdge M710 Blade offers 18 DIMM slots and up to 288GB of total RAM, along with twice the I/O capabilities of half-height blades and full-fabric redundancy across all three fabrics. The Dell PowerEdge M710 blade server enables fast virtualization with software from leading industry vendors, using an internal SD or USB card for embedded hypervisors.
Increased memory and I/O capacity for high-performance applications
Expanding to a full-height form factor has allowed Dell to significantly increase the memory capacity of the M710 with 18 dual in-line memory module (DIMM) slots and up to 144GB of total RAM.
The new Double Data Rate 3 (DDR3) memory offers higher bandwidth and lower power consumption than previous Fully Buffered DIMM (FBD) or DDR2 RAM technologies. The multiple memory slots allow you to use smaller, less expensive DIMMs to meet your computing needs.
