Fujitsu storage support and maintenance
Fujitsu’s FibreCAT and Eternus storage products are geared toward mid- and entry-level storage requirements, from simple Just a Bunch Of Disks (JBOD) models to a Windows Storage Server-based platform for NAS functionality. Hot swap hardware replacement modules and hardware RAID support reduce the risks of data unavailability or downtime. While many models may have reached their end-of-life (EOL) dates, they may still be providing access to mission-critical data and services to your organization. While you may want to decommission these systems, until the data stored on them has been migrated, ensuring that they continue to operate as required is of paramount importance.
Outsourcing Fujitsu storage maintenance
By offering viable and sustainable alternative service support options to our customers, we are able to help by providing short temporary support, giving a period of time for customers to make informed decisions about whether a hardware upgrade project is absolutely necessary.
Alternatively, maintaining and supporting current end-of-life products in an environment while data migration and platform retirement are carried out is a vital requirement to mitigate any risk of data loss or unavailability during a project.
With flexible contract options, an in-depth knowledge of Fujitsu hardware and extensive experience, DC Parts has a support package that can be tailored to your specific requirements. Please contact us to see if we can provide you with the assurances you need to explore an alternative maintenance support service.

Residual asset value for your Fujitsu hardware
Our unique Fujitsu storage maintenance and support service can provide you with the potential to customize a cost-neutral maintenance contract for Fujitsu storage that is now post-warranty, end-of-life or end-of-life (EOL/EOSL). Our service enables customers with Fujitsu hardware to have multiple stages in a lifecycle program, while providing extended maintenance support regardless of the need for 3, 6, 9 or even 12 months of support, thus effectively creating a cost-neutral solution.
Cost reduction in your contract
We allow a cost-neutral maintenance solution to be provided through the residual value on your Fujitsu storage hardware that we would remove at the end of the agreed maintenance support term. As well as services for secure decommissioning and data erasure in accordance with internal compliance requirements will also be part of the hardware lifecycle services program discussion.
If you don’t need a support service, our maintenance service can still benefit you. As such, we can provide a residual value quote for your IT server and storage hardware and discuss the process of data decommissioning and disposal, allowing you to achieve a much higher return on your initial capital investment. There is no obligation to get a quote from DC Parts, but it does allow you to explore whether this service can be feasible and beneficial to you.

Eternus, the Latin word for eternal or endless, is a line of SAN products from mid-class to enterprise storage. The entry-level DX60 S2 supports dual controllers, 2.5 “or 3.5” SAS and NL-SAS disks, and a maximum raw capacity of approximately 70 TB, and host connectivity via 4 Gbps Fibre Channel, 1 Gbps iSCSI, and 3Gbps SAS. The DX440 S2 expands significantly over the DX60 S2, with 16 Gbps Fibre Channel connectivity, 10 Gbps FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet), and iSCSI, and a maximum raw capacity of approximately 1900 TB. SSD support is also available, including self-encrypting drives (SED). With fully redundant hardware, including RAID controllers (dual-controller models only) and power supplies, Fujitsu’s Eternus storage solutions are designed to maintain access to data.
Although the S2 series of Eternus storage platforms has already reached its end-of-life (EoL) dates, they are far from obsolete. With available NL-SAS and RAID 6 disk options, an Eternus system can be repositioned as a robust archiving platform. DC Parts has extensive experience redeploying systems that would otherwise have been discarded, helping these customers get the most bang for their buck in storage hardware. With the right maintenance, these systems can continue to provide a valuable service for much longer than originally designed. Our team of technical experts can advise if your existing Eternus system needs to be replaced due to increased demands, or if these systems can be utilized in a less I/O-intensive environment.

The range of FibreCAT storage systems are entry-level models, from direct-attached JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) to increase the server’s internal storage capacity, to expandable dual RAID controller arrays, and even a Windows Storage Server-based NAS device. Supporting SATA or SAS hard drives, FibreCAT storage systems were a cost-effective solution for SMB environments. The SX40 could support 3 additional disk racks, while the SX80 had a total capacity of 60 drives, and SAS and SATA could be combined in the same cabinet. The NX40 is based on Fujitsu’s Primergy Server architecture using Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 with a maximum internal capacity of 2 TB. The NX40 can be used as a gateway to SX SAN models, significantly increasing the effective capacity available for file-level storage.
The FibreCAT storage product line was, in many cases, a perfect fit for smaller-scale deployments, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t crucial to these environments. Often serving data that was as critical as large-scale storage systems, it was an essential component for many IT infrastructures. DC Parts understands that your data is crucial, no matter the size of your organization. Without access to it, your company sometimes suffers even more than large corporations, which may have full DR installations.
Our team of support specialists understands this and is happy to provide a support solution tailored to your system. You may have in-house skills that mean you only need parts with access to technical assistance as needed, or you may need a full support package, giving you peace of mind that your systems will continue to operate efficiently. Contact a member of the DC Parts team to learn how we can help keep your storage systems operational and your data available.
