New open box – the hardware is not used, but the seal on the original packaging is broken or cut. This equipment is typically offered with most or all of the manufacturer's warranty.

As with new hardware, there are several different terms that are used to describe the condition of used equipment. The following glossary explains terminology for equipment that may have been deployed over a period of time and includes the latest technology hardware in the form of ex-demo products, canceled projects and clearance stock, right through to hardware that has been declared 'End of -Life' (EOL) by the manufacturer.
OEM Refurbishment, Remanufacture and Refurbishment – Hardware that has been returned to the manufacturer and has undergone a renewal process with the supplier or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Typically, this equipment comes with a full manufacturer's warranty.
Recondicioned - Hardware that has been previously purchased and subsequently cleaned, tested and returned to its original level of operation prior to shipment. Equipment is typically offered with a minimum 90-day warranty, which for many products can be increased to one year for a nominal fee.
Used - Hardware that has been tested to work but has not been refurbished. Typically, this equipment is offered with a 90-day warranty.
